When to Go
June and July are monsoons in Nepal, the days hours are longer, the sky is carpeted with the cloud, trails are muddy and wet, the river is bigger in size. You may get trouble with flights for weeks-long delays so; I do not recommend traveling in this season. Although Dolpo lies in the Dhaulagiri rain shadow and Tibetan plateau no monsoon at all but getting into Dolpo is the flight from Nepalgunj, Pokhara as the result you may stock in the airport for many days.
August, September, and October are the best season to trekking in Dolpo, where weather gives you cordial support, the enthralling scenery of blue sky, silver shining mountain and grey-brown barren landscape welcomes you and smile on your beforehand. These three months are peak season in Dolpo trekking but not crowd as Annapurna, Everest area.
What Kind Of Trips
Dolpo is very remote and rugged, no motorable road is still connected with the district. The tough topography and remoteness is its charming and hindering factor for Dolpo. The only way to accomplishing your trip is camping trek. For instance, a short trek up to Phoksundo Lake can be done in one week with basic tea house while long trek is not possible without camping trek. What to Bring
A rainwear, windproof and down jackets, light down sleeping bag, trekking boot, sunglass, snow glass, some warm clothes, some pairs of summer clothes in the case of clothing. Carry bunch packets of nuts, candies, nutritious chocolate bars which boost your stamina during weakness feeling.
