GHT Manaslu & Annapurna

Overview

GHT Manaslu & Annapurna trek is one section of GHT Nepal, it combine two most popualr treks Tsum Manaslu trek and Annapurna circuit trek in Nepal.

A nice variation of the circuit is the path leading to the villages of Naar and Phu, crossing the Kang La (5322 m) on the way back to the main trail. This area was closed to trekkers until late 2002 and still very few venture off the well-trodden circuit up to these relatively unexplored villages surrounded by many dazzling 7000 m peaks.

From Chame the trek climbs up through beautiful forests, gorges and narrow canyons, past ancient gompas in century old villages. Beyond Manang you can leave the busy trail again by trekking via Tilicho Tal (4920 m), crossing two 5000 m plus passes instead of the customary trail via Thorung La (5415 m) and descend down to Muktinath and finally to Jomsom.

Itinerary Overview

Day 1:Arrival at Kathmandu Transfer to the hotel.

Day 3:Drive from Kathmandu to Arughat Bazaar (535m) 5-6 Hrs.& drive to Machha Khola (930m) 2-3 Hrs
Day 4:Machha Khola to Doban (1,070m) 6-7 Hours
Day 5:Doban- Philim (1,570 m)5-6 Hours
Day 6:Philim-Chumling (Lower Tsum) (2,361m)6-7 Hours
Day 7:Chumling- Chhekampar (Upper Tsum) (3,010 m) 5-6 Hours
Day 8:Chhekampar- Chhule-Nile (3,361m), visit Milarepa Piren Phu Cave on the way 6 to 7 Hours
Day 9:Chhule-Nile- Mu Gompa (3,700 m), visit Dhephyudonma Gompa (4,060 m)3-4 Hours
Day 10:Mu Gompa- Rachen Gompa (3,210 m)5-6 Hours
Day 11:Rachen Gompa- Dumje (2,405m) 6-7 Hours
Day 12: Dumje to Lokpa (cross Ripchet) (1,570 m) 6-7 Hours
Day 13:Trek Lokpa to Deng (1865m)4-5 Hours

Day 31:Pisang - Manang village (3540 m) via Ghyaru and Ngawal. 7-8 hours
Day 32:Rest day and acclimatization. Explore Manang.
Day 33:Manang - Yak Kharka (4050 m) 6 hrs
Day 34:Yak Kharka - Thorong Phedi (4510 m) 4 hrs
Day 35:Thorong Phedi - Muktinath (3760 m) via Thorong-La pass (5416m) 9 hrs
Day 36:Muktinath - Jomsom (2810 m) 4-5hrs
Day 37: Jomsom-Pokhara and Kathmandu
Day 38: Free day in Kathmandu
Day 39: Fly back to home
