Trekking in Dolpo offers the endless variety of landscapes, cultures and great people. This unbounded diversity attracts you to visit the region again and again. Dolpo is relatively untouched and less explored than the Annpurna and Everest region.

Dolpo region is situated in between Dhaulagiri massif and Tibetan plateau. Dolpo region was restricted for foreigner till 1989, but soon by 1990 government had decided to open the region for a foreigner with issuing a special permit. Then gradually numbers of foreigner visitors kicked up to Dolpo region for their holiday, filming and research destination.

Trekking in Dolpo region requires trekking permits. The permit can be issued from Department of Immigration of Nepal through a registered trekking agency. If you are trekking in Lower Dolpo, then you have to take the permit of Lower Dolpo region which is USD 10 per week, but in the case of Upper Dolpo, for the first 10 days USD 500 and rest day are charged by USD 50 per day.
