Dolpo Festival Trek takes you in the lap highest human settlement of world, hidden and beautiful Himalayan Valley of Nepal “Dho Tarap” on the occasion of Dolpo Festival. Dolpo Festival is going to commence on 10-14 September 2019 in Dho Tarap Valley of Dolpa Nepal. Dolpo festival along with Silver Jubilee Celebration of Crystal Mountain School would be a great experience of Dolpo culture in one basket. In the five days celebration of Dolpo Festival we witness the alive participation in whole proceeding of the festival.

Dho Tarap valley is one of most beautiful hidden valley of Dolpo Nepal. Located in the heart of Dolpo, the place can be reached in one day from nine different places of neighboring villages for the locals. There are four different villages scattered around the Dho Tarap valleys are Lang (Kalang), Dho, Doro Sipchyo and Tokyu. The federal republic system of Nepalese government, the valley constitutes under the Dolpo Buddha Rural Municipality, in Karnali province. Dho Tarap valley is also a sacred valley of Dolpo, since the history the valley is blessed by great magical Buddhist Guru “Padmasmbhawa” (Guru Rimpoche) and many Buddhist masters were enlighten in this sacred valley. Majority of inhabitants in this valley are followers of the Buddhist nyingmapa sect whose main protagonist is Guru Rimpoche. And the smaller group of people follows the Bon tradition and lives mainly near the Dhoro Shipchok village of Dho Tarap Valley. Therefore, there are two sacred pilgrimages of Bon (Pawo Drunga) and Tibetan Buddhism (Buddha Ri). Moreover, there many ancient age old Bon and Buddhist Monasteries reside in the valley.

Dolpo Festival Trek, starts from Juphal once after safely landed. Then after we descend to Kalagauda along the densely compacted Khas village Dangibara, and following the Thubheri River bank all the way to Rupgad, Suligad and Dunai. From Dunai the trail leads through the Thuli Bheri river to Magar inhabited valley “Tichurong Valley” upto Lasicap. From Lasicap crossing the suspension bride we switch to North and follow the Tarap khola for three days up to Dho Tarap valley. Then for the three day we experience and witness many different cultural activities in Festival.

After enjoying the Dolpo festival, we will continue trek through the “the Schaller’s trail” passing Khyula Pass, Chutang Khola, Sagar Khola, Dekuthang, Phoksundo North camp to Phoksundo and Rigmo village. The final part of our trek stretches along the Phoksundo River and lush vegetation of Phoksundo National park to Juphal and fly out to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.
