Phoksundo Lake Dolpo

Dolpa (Dolpo) is one of the largest district of Nepal and it comprises the best trekking destination in Nepal because it retains the silver shining mountains, revered and sacred pilgrims, and diverse cultural and geographical settings. Federal Democratic the government of Nepal, has divided Dolpa in to 8 local bodies (Local Governments) such as Tripura Sundari Municpality, Thuli Bheri Municiapality, Kaike Rural Municipality, Chharka Tangsung Rural Municipality, Dolpo Budhha Municipality, Shey Phoksundo Rural Municipality, Mudkechula Rural Municipality, and Jagdulla Rural Municipality. Generally for trekking in Dolpo we have two categories of Dolpo region, that is such as Lower Dolpo Trek and Upper Dolpo Trek.

Lowe Dolpo Circuit Trek is a classic Lower dolpo trek in Dolpo region of Nepal. The trek leads from Juphal airstrip along the Thulibheri River Dunai, and Tichurong Valley of Tarakot, Yelakot, Sadul Gompa, Tarap Khola Valley to Dho Tarap. After Dho Tarap valley it stretches through two high passes Numala Pass (5309m) and Bagala Pass(5169m) to magical Phoksundo lake of Rigmo valley. The last part of trek treading along the Phoksundo River valley and lush vegetation of Shey Phoksundo National park to Thuli Bheri River confluence Suligad, Rupgad, and Kalagaunda to Juphal.

Lower Dolpo Heritage Trek is newly discovered treks in Dolpo region. It stretches from Juphal airstrip Juphal airstrip along the Thulibheri River Dunai, and Tichurong Valley of Tarakot, Yelakot, Kola & Tachin village, and entering to Chharka Tansung valley along the Barbung River valley of  Musi Khola, Kakot village, Pimding village, Syang, Seri village, Dukot and Dad Gaon. Beyond the Dad Gaon the trail switch to west of the Barbung Khola valley trail crossing Chan La pass(5378m) Pen La(4850m) to Dho Tarap Valley. Beni Dolpo trek is an ideal and a classic treks in North West Nepal. Beni Dolpo Trek, winds across the Dhaulagiri range into the lower Dolpo caters insightful charisma for Himalayan admiring people. Beni Dolpo trek begins from Myagdi district headquarter Beni and heading to the south, along the Babiyachaur village, Ratodunga, Muna, Jaljala and to the Dhorpatan village. Dhorpatan is the only one Hunting reserve of Nepal. Then following wilderness trail throughout Phagune pass 4062 meters to Pelma, Dhule, Sengkhola. Heading further to the northern pastureland is Jangla Pass (4535m), descend down from pastureland we reach at ‘Tichurong Valley’ a beautiful Magar inhabited valley. Beyond the ‘Tichurong ‘area we further continue our journey towards the north following Tarap River along the Laina Odar, Pivo cave, Sisol to ‘Dho Tarap valley’ a valley is known as the highest human settlement and trade junction of Upper Dolpo. After the end of the valley we turn to the west crossing two high passes Numala pass (5360m) and Bagala Pass (5070m), caters astonishment vistas and spectacular scenic realms before descend down to the Rigmo Bon village and turquoise Phoksundo Lake. The last part of trek treading along the Phoksundo River valley and lush vegetation of Shey Phoksundo National park to Thuli Bheri River confluence Suligad, Rupgad, and Kalagaunda to Juphal.

Lower Dolpo Jumla trek is another wonderful Lower Dolpo trek in Dolpo region.This treak leads from Juphal airstrip along the Thuli Bheri river valet upto Suligad. From the Suligad the trail follows the Phoksundo River and lush vegetation of Phoksundo National park along the Kageni, Syangta, Chhepka, Rechi, Chunuwar and Phoksudo Lake and Rigmo Village. Having one day explore around Phoksundo then return back to Chunuwar from the trail switches to West follong the Pugmo Khola to Pugmo village. After Pugmo village the trail further continue along the Lasa Meadow and Kagmagar Pass(5115m) and to Kagmara Phedi to Hurikot and Kaigaon. After Hurikot and Kaoigaon following dirt road all the way to Ogreni, Nyauli Ghat, Maure Lagna(3894m), Mani Gaon, Gothi Chaur, Garjyakot to Jumla.
